The Position

As Food Scientist Lead you will be part of our management team and responsible for Legendairy’s food development department. You will design, implement and manage experiments to test the functionalities and the associated food applications of our ingredients. In this role, you will be actively involved in shaping and executing the strategy and operations of our venture. We offer you an operational yet strategic position with the unique possibility to generate real impact and create your own legacy.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage sensory tests related to ingredient evaluation and protein functionality
  • Perform recipe formulations of our first prototypes
  • Collaborate with our other departments to develop our intellectual property strategy and file for patents
  • Generate and analyze data that facilitate the advancement of our product development
  • Create scientific insights to advance food ingredient discoveries
  • Build relationships and collaborate with external partners

Your profile:
  • Master’s or PhD in food science, food chemistry or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant area of work (academia or industry)
  • Knowledge in dairy processing / dairy science a plus
  • Experience in the set-up of testing and characterization models for protein food ingredients
  • Passionate about food, health, nutrition and sustainability
  • Drive in an entrepreneurial setting, eager to collaborate across functions and backgrounds
  • Fluent in English, German a plus
